In our world, authenticity is key, which is why we put every venue, workshop, retreat, spa and therapy to the Spherical Petal test. All accommodation recommended by us has been looked at with the setting and environment in mind.

Behind the name: Spherical Petal
As a spiritually-conscious person, I really wanted the name of this experiential travel site to reflect the flow of energy – the continuous motion of breath flowing within and without, aiding us through different realms of consciousness.
In the name, “Spherical” refers to the earth’s sphere and aims to draw on the energy that is generated by mother earth.
“Petal”, on the other hand, refers to the chakras and the petals that surround these spinning vortexes. Chakras denote life and living, helping us tap into a myriad of energetic experiences that have the power to transform our lives.
It is these powerful experiences, ones that allow for the continual flow of positive energy, that I wish to offer every friend of Spherical Petal.
Holistic beginnings
It’s so true that in life many good things come of frustrating situations. That’s how Spherical Petal came about. I was in desperate need of a relaxing, personalised yoga retreat – like the ones I had heard whispered on the wind – but, for the life of me, couldn’t find.
Because when I was searching the internet I didn’t have a venue name, I had specifications; I didn’t have a location, I had an idea of how I wanted the environment to be. But none of these descriptions led me to the kind of retreat I was looking for. All I got for my efforts were a few phone numbers and a whole lot of frustration. I just remember thinking – it’s got to be easier than this. How can there not be a reputable site that will bring the best of the best together for people like me?
So after chatting to a few friends and my wonderful astrologer, Shirley Main, I realised I had nothing to lose by starting this exact website myself. I am a ‘spiritual’ person as they say, with passion for travel and unique personal experiences so there was no reason why I shouldn’t put years in the hospitality industry to good use. Which is exactly what I did.
So Spherical Petal was born and the rest, as I like to say, is a mystery.
